MineRP Planner

MineRP Planner, built on MineRP's Enterprise Spatial Integration Framework, revolutionizes Rapid Long & Medium Term Mine Planning.

Whether for green- or brown fields operations, mine planning across any time horizon is time consuming and laborious.  This means mines are typically able to create and assess only one mine plan per annual planning cycle. Manually drawing CAD mine designs to be sequenced and scheduled is the major bottleneck, and the handover between design and financial costing & budgeting is spreadsheet hell.

Framework based planning with MineRP Planner transforms mine planning, and dramatically reduces the process time for mine design, sequence and scheduling activities. Traditional design by CAD drawing is replaced by automated framework based design,providing the opportunity to create and examine many more business alternatives.


MineRP Planner gives miners the flexibility to make large scale or incremental adjustments in response to market trends within the window of opportunity presented.

Major functional elements of MineRP Planner includes:

  • Template Aided Design capabilities allowing for the fast generation of mine design alternatives for evaluation, scheduling and final selection

MineRP CAD is core to the Spatial Integration Platform offered by MineRP. 


This solution building block has two major applications in this context.  Firstly, it acts as an integrated view into all datasets hosted by MineRP systems through a CAD like database environment as configured by MineRP Core, including externally referenced data, predefined views, layouts and predefined EAV & spatial filters. 


The second major application of MineRP CAD centres on its CAD capabilities as such.  Based on AutoCAD technology, MineRP CAD is a modern, fully functional CAD tool extended with industry-specific mining tools optimised for efficient and accurate design and draughting work. 


A major differentiator of MineRP CAD is the fact that it interacts directly with SpatialDB, and does not proliferate proprietary CAD files, but rather extends the features of SpatialDB to offer seamless versioning, collaboration and multi-disciplinary information sharing.

Mine2-4D v15

Mine2-4D v15 is the new benchmark in mine planning software, offering mine planners significant advances in planning and scheduling efficiency. Users can now perform key functions in fewer clicks due to streamlined process flows and save hours of calculation time with the instant sequencing capability.

EPS sets the industry standard for mine production scheduling and forecasting. Short for Enhanced Production Scheduler, EPS addresses the shortcomings of traditional project scheduling and spread sheet based solutions by providing a logical and unified approach to mine scheduling. 


Integrated with many design tools such as Mine2-4D and EPSViz, users can interactively update schedules, rules, dependencies other features as they toggle between design, schedule and visualisation.


With EPS, you get:


  • Gantt chart capability, with associated time-based crosstab or histogram reports.

  • Many familiar project management and scheduling tools, yet fully customised for the needs and complex issues of mining operations.

  • A modern user interface, making it extremely easy-to-learn and easy-to-use application.



Project Setup


  • Import data from (or export data to) external spread sheet sources, such as Microsoft Excel

  • Create user-defined physical properties such as grade, tonnage, meters, and cost 

  • Define labour and equipment resources and assign these to specific activities 

  • Specify resources as either rate, duration, or effort driven

  • Import data from (or export data to) external spreadsheet sources, such as Microsoft Excel





  • Specify Tasks as either rate or duration driven 

  • Colour-code activities to allow quick and easy differentiation on a user-defined basis 

  • Set target ranges for all user-defined properties for production planning 

  • Change the rate of a task over time 

  • Record actual start and finish dates, and track percentage-complete for activities 

  • Change the Gantt Chart display to show date bars, cross tab values, or both

  • Specify Tasks as either rate or duration driven 





  • Define resources as either equipment or labour, and assign them to activities 

  • Build a Resource Based Schedule and change availability and cost over time 

  • Level resources using the improved levelling algorithm, which takes into account resource calendars and provides for multi-resource utilization on a single task 

  • View resources and tasks assigned to them on the assignment bar chart





  • Edit the bar chart period values in-line in a similar manner to a spreadsheet

  • Capture notes on project, tasks, and resources, and add hyperlinks in the notes fields

  • Indicators (icons in the information column) indicate the status of Tasks and Resources

  • Create filters to build customized views in the Gantt Chart area and to use in Cross tab reporting

  • Filter and sort tasks on any field or combination of fields

  • Automatically generate Task filters based on unique field values

  • Maintain separate scheduling and reporting calendars, with the ability to report data over any given time period

Dynamic 3D Visualization—EPSViz


  • Link the EPS schedule with 3D graphical data to provide dynamic animations of the schedule 

  • Interactively select 3D activities 

  • Distribute visualizations and schedules to non-licensed users of the software using the free 

  • Viewer versions available for download from the web



EPS Viz provides the ability to link an EPS Gantt schedule with 3D graphical design data to provide dynamic and interactive animations of the schedule, and a whole lot more!

Interactive Scheduling
